Will they go with another Taker v Orton chapter, or will the WWE keep to the plan and have Angle v Orton at Mania? I say the latter, although I wouldn't write off Taker winning and earning himself another (final?) run with the title. Taker is still an amazing character and one of my favourites (so is Angle), even if the whole deadman gimmick is old. I hope he sticks around till at least next year.
I realise that this is probably a huge gamble, but I've decided to give the nod to Rey Mysterio here. Think back to No Way Out 2004, when Eddie won the title from Brock. This match has some similarities, with the whole "family at ringside" scenario, and also Chavo being at ringside. When a superstar from RAW appears at a SD PPV, you can almost guarantee some kind of interference (ie Goldberg at the same PPV I just mentioned) This being Chavo, I'd say he'd be looking for a measure of revenge against Orton for his comments about his uncle. I see Chavo landing the 3 amigos and Mysterio hitting a frogsplash for the win. Fingers crossed Rey wins...a Rey v Angle main event at Mania isn't out of the question, and of course it could still be a Rey v Angle v Orton.
Changing my tip here. I think Benoit could really do with another title heading into Wrestlemania, and there could easily be a triple threat or fatal fourway for the title in Chicago. After Booker got the last laugh on Smackdown, plus the likelihood of a Boogeyman interference, I'll give Benoit the nod.
Can't see JBL winning here...I'm pleased to see Lashley getting a good run here, he's gradually improving and I hope his big push continues...could lead to a US title shot sometime soon.
I will say that MnM retain here against the Hardy Boys (if only) and then drop the titles at Wrestlemania to the Mexicools. Hardy & Animal will make a good team though, certainly a better combo than "LOD 2005." Their time will come.
Helms will win the gauntlet match and thus prove himself more worthy than his challengers who gave him a beating on Smackdown. I love Helms in his new role, much better than the Hurricane. Long life the new Gregory Helms.
